This is an optional Community Economic Development Training Program (CEDTP) course.   


course Outcomes 

  • Understand the significant contributions small businesses make to their communities.
  • Gain insights into various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and trends, and learn strategies to promote CSR within their communities.
  • Understand the  concept of Community Economic Development (CED) and examines the interplay between social and economic factors, addressing overlapping issues such as health, housing, diversity, and workforce development.
              • Understand sustainable leadership practices, emphasizing collaborative leadership styles, strategic planning, and inclusive community engagement.
              • Learn the role of economic developers, understanding when to lead, collaborate, advocate, or defer to others based on expertise and organizational responsibilities.
              • Understand strategies for facilitating action, including encouraging cross-sector collaboration, securing funding, developing policies and programs, measuring impact, and cultivating next-generation leadership.
