EDA's Event Code of Conduct

Economic Developers Alberta is committed to providing professional, respectful, inclusive, and welcoming environments at all EDA-sponsored events, programs, meetings, conferences, training sessions, webinars, networking activities, and volunteer activities. Participation in EDA activities is a privilege. All participants are expected to contribute to a positive, professional, and respectful experience for everyone involved.

Who this applies to

This Code of Conduct applies to all individuals participating in EDA-sponsored activities, including members, non-members, conference delegates, speakers and presenters, sponsors and exhibitors, volunteers, trainers and instructors, Board members, committee members, mentors and mentees, and guests and attendees.

Expected conduct

Participants are expected to conduct themselves with professionalism, integrity, courtesy, and respect; treat all participants with dignity and respect differing viewpoints; foster welcoming and inclusive environments that support participation from diverse backgrounds and experiences; act in a manner consistent with the EDA Code of Ethics; and contribute to safe, respectful, and harassment-free environments.

Unacceptable conduct

Unacceptable conduct includes harassment, discrimination, bullying, intimidation, threatening behaviour, verbal abuse, personal attacks, disruptive behaviour, inappropriate or unwelcome conduct, and behaviour that undermines the safety, professionalism, or integrity of an event.
