The EDA Board of Directors adheres to a Code of Ethics and Conflict of Interest Policy, essential for ensuring its operational integrity. Each Board Member is required to annually endorse these policies.
Our Honorary Patron
The role of Honorary Patron is filled by the Minister responsible for economic development.

Message from the Chair- Lisa Sweet
As Chair of Economic Developers Alberta (EDA), I am honoured to support and represent a strong, forward-thinking, and member-driven organization.
Across Alberta, communities are navigating change, pursuing new opportunities, and building long-term resilience. In this environment, the role of economic development professionals is more important than ever. You are the connectors, collaborators, and leaders driving investment, supporting local businesses, and shaping vibrant, sustainable communities.
EDA is proud to be the province’s dedicated organization for economic developers, providing the training, insights, and connections that help our members succeed. Whether you are working in a large urban centre or a rural community, our focus remains the same: to equip you with practical tools, relevant knowledge, and meaningful opportunities to learn and grow.
I am excited about the year ahead and the continued momentum we are building together. Thank you for the work you do every day to strengthen Alberta’s economy and the communities we all call home.
