To obtain a  CED Certificate, a total of 7 micro-credentials must completed by taking the following courses:

General Practitioners:

• Completion of 5 core courses.
  • Establishing the Foundation (ETF)
    
  • Business Retention & Expansion (BR&E)
  • Business Investment & Attraction (BI&A)
    
  • Community Economic Resilience (CER)
    
  • Professional Ethics in Economic Development (PE) *can also be substituted with the EDAC or IEDC Ethics courses
• Completion of 2 optional courses.
  • Fundamentals of Rural Economic Development (RED)
  • The Social Side of Economic Development (SED)
    Co-operatives & Economic Development (CAED)
    
  • Performance Measurement in Economic Development (PM)
    
  • Mental Well-being for Community Leaders (MW)

Elected Officials:

• Completion of 5 core courses.
  • Business Retention & Expansion (BR&E)
  • Business Investment & Attraction (BI&A)
  • Community Economic Resilience (CER)
  • Economic Development for Elected Officials (EO)
  • Professional Ethics in Economic Development (PE) *can also be substituted with the EDAC or IEDC Ethics courses

• Completion of 2 optional courses.
  • Fundamentals of Rural Economic Development (RED)
  • The Social Side of Economic Development (SED)
    Co-operatives & Economic Development (CAED)
  • Performance Measurement in Economic Development (PM)
  • Mental Well-being for Community Leaders (MW)

Upon completion, a Community Economic Development Certificate will be issued electronically.

Students with a CED Certificate can then apply to receive the PEcD designation.
