Showcasing the importance of economic development in your community.

Economic development is foundational work. It helps to create jobs, support businesses, and improve the quality of life in communities large and small. 

This week validates the importance of the work economic developers carry out in their communities every day. 

We encourage your community to:

• Bring an EDA Institute economic development course to your community.
• Proclaim Economic Development Week - see the sample resolution below.
• Organize a special event to profile your economic development activities. 

Proclaim Economic Development Week

The proclamation shows your commitment to economic development and strengthens support for the work of economic development staff.

1. Customize the 2025 Sample Resolution 
2. Have your Council/Mayor officially proclaim the week in your community and sign the resolution
3. Share the proclamation with local media, and on your social media pages, and tag us!
