Celebrate the Past. Thrive in the Present. Excel in the Future.
April 3-5, 2019
EDA’s Annual General Meeting & Professional Conference attracts around 400 local, national and international experts in the field of economic development and elected officials from various parts of our province. Delegates are provided with updates on economic development issues and trends, best practices, inspiring keynote addresses and valuable networking opportunities. In addition, Alberta’s Minister responsible for economic development is invited to deliver a keynote address during the Minister’s Dinner & Awards Ceremony.
EDA’s next annual conference is being held April 3-5, 2019 at The Banff Centre in Banff, Alberta. This beautiful, modern conference venue offers a stunning backdrop to showcase your organization to economic developers and elected officials from Alberta’s communities and regions. In 2019, EDA will also be celebrating its 45th anniversary. As a result, our theme is “Celebrate the Past. Thrive in the Present. Excel in the Future”.

Our conference submission deadline has now passed. We had an overwhelming response and are now ranking them. We hope to have the top submissions confirmed before December 15.
Each year we look for speakers to address a wide variety of current economic development issues. If you have a hot, relevant topic you would like to present and feel that your subject will be of interest to our audience, we would like to hear from you. Whether you are associated with academia, government or the private sector, we invite you to submit your presentation proposal for consideration.
Please note: We do not pay speakers. We do not entertain presentations focused on selling products or services. Our conference is meant to be a professional development opportunity, not a corporate advertisement. We aim to incorporate different speakers each year, and rarely profile the same panelist twice.
